Sedition is the crime of revolting or inciting revolt against government. However, because of the broad protection of free speech under the First Amendment, prosecutions for sedition are rare."[1]

Getting in trouble for sedition is difficult due to the freedom of speech. If you are charged with sedition, it is a serious crime similar to treason. Sedition means you are verbally rioting and revolting against the government, inciting others to do the same, in a treasonous, anti-state manner.
